Antonio Scotti nació en la ciudad de Nápoles el 25 de enero de 1866. Sus primeros profesores fueron Trifari-Payanini y Vincenzo Lombardi. Debuta en Malta, el año 1889, en el papel de Amonasro. Geraldine Farrar nació el 28 de febrero de 1882 en Melrose. Estudió en Boston, New York, Paris i Berlin, donde debuta en 1901 en el papel de Marguerite de la ópera Fausto de Gounod.
