Great inventions of humanity – the roasting bag

Yes I know that lately it seems that everything revolves around the kitchen, but is missing three days for Christmas / San Esteban, here in Catalunya, as you already know, we took our Christmas pairs. A day that is supposed to “has to look good, ” either ordering food in a restaurant or as in my case it is the majority, putting the apron. Facing the task of feeding a lot of people and over “looking good” a lot of work and time it would not be any problem if all you culinary horizon was placed on that appointed day. No, the problem is that you are not alone in the world. All around you there are usually other people who not only expect to eat well that day but all the others and they do not eat up once but have a nasty habit of eating several times a day.

Today I have started the Sant Esteban’s war, culinary war off course, so I had no much time to devote for today’s   food, so I laid hold of one of the great inventions of mankind, THE ROASTING BAG

In this case the bags, because I’ve used two bags.

Are you ready to look like a queen / king with little effort? Here we go.

In order to llok esplendorous we will begin using a bombastic name like

Hoy;

Roast chicken stuffed with herbs, roasted in its own juice with potato mille-feuilles

A name worthy of Berasategui.

In short we’re going to cook this

We need

A chicken stuffed like those who at this time are not lacking in any supermarket, I picked up a chicken stuffed with meat, sausage and prunes

Potatoes, more or less the same size

And some things in order to complete as

A scoop of “Knorr soup concentrate”  (another great invention)

SPICES AVECREM  two stock cube, in this case, thyme and rosemary (this is also a great idea)

Some  weed. In this case, oregano, bay leaf and something else I do not remember. In fact, the first thing I’ve found

a little chopped parsley

an onion or like me a little onion frozen from  La Sirena.

a couple of cloves of garlic

Ah! and of course two roasting bags.

Openthe first bag and gets into : the chicken, weeds, two cloves of garlic, onion, broth and the stock cube.  This permitted a thousand variations.

Seal the bag. Now we go to the second bag.

Cut the potatoes into thin slices, without cutting completely. Like taht

I guess it goes without saying that the potatoes must be washed beforehand.

Put the potatoes in the bag, will you add a little oil, salt, pepper and chopped parsley. Nothing happens if you don’t have parsley.

oven for approximately one hour. 200 degrees.

Over time do you find the bags of the oven. Be careful when opening the bags, because in addition to clouding glasses, you can burn.

Check the potatoes are done. So

Now open the bag of chicken. Collect all juice in a pot.

If I had not such a hurry, I would have expected to be cooled down and would have been able to cut fine, but the situation today was not this, so I’ve cut what I could.

After I put the chicken  in the same plate I have used before, with the potatoes.

I’ve had a little of the cooking juices and baked again at 220 degrees for about 10 minutes to brown.

While I have taken a bit of water in the bags, I have troubled to collect all the juices. I added a teaspoon of cornstarch (in the same bag) I have come to shake and all that I’ve thrown into the pot where I had collected most of the cooking juices. I’ve crushed Herbora about five minutes to reduce.

And ladies and gentlemen this is the result. Modesty aside, simply spectacular. And the oven without any splash. A great invention.
