Throughout history Barcelona’s harbor has grown from its beginnings in the small cove on Maians’s island, current area Barceloneta neighborhood to Llobregat river.

A few years ago moved the river mouth, which generated no little controversy and the harbor expanded its boundaries, opened a second entrance, moved the fuel dock to the west and grew the container area, which is the part that you can see in the photograph.
