Definitely I don’t like that name, it sounds awful to me. It sounds as a tourist package, as coach with tourist guide included, as small plastic bracelet, as “all included”
That’s how for most of the people who visit the “Riviera Maya” during the time they spent there, 7 days/6 night for the most part.
Just landing in the airport, they put them in a coach where a smiling tourist guide will talk them about the pressing need to go, the day after, at Resorts’s lobby where another smiling guide sill talk them about.
First option: “we need to confirm your return trip tickets”
Second option: “I would talk you about several activities you can enjoy in our resort” From Tai-chi to paragliding, including dance lesson, spa and, obviously, cover your head with a lot of braid “my dream”.
In fact his only objective is to contract tours, the most as possible. Xcaret, Tulum, Shopping on Playa del Carmen, and “Swimming in the Cenote” are the most common destinations.
But, not whole tourist are well-disposed, specially the USA and Canadian people. They have just left their frozen countries and in their mind there is only one idea, or maybe three: buffet, swimming pool with wet-bar, off course, and the “mojitos”
For that reason the tourist guide no doubt to employ all possible arguments.
Driving in this road is dangerous. This road is one of the most dangerous roads in the world. Probably the most one.
I listened last year. He was so insistent that I just doubt if to rent a car was a good idea. But it was.
Without Coach, without guide but with some books, my camera and the best company beside me I found a bit of paradise, where the coaches never go.
.

Between the great Resorts, there are a lot and not all with the same level, from time to time a small passage was open between the railings and the mangroves swam, there, in the end with a bit of chance you can find a beach like that.

When yo star moving, probably you trip over a small jewelry like this one below. Because on that beach nobody clean the sand for a bad salary, and the sand is full of small or not so small coral treasure. Very different of beach’s photographs from travel catalogs where all beaches are clean and the sand is always white and soft like a caress on thing is the advertising and another thing is the reality.

Quintana Roo, the true name of that regions is a good place to lose yourself, and discover places like that.

While, the most people are polishing all of the food 170 Km away from you, probably you can take this photo. The advantage to wake up early..
But the most important is the possibility to see that side by side the ruins there are people.

With my greatest affection and gratitude to my Mexican readers and friends.
See you.
