Siempre esperándonos - Always waiting for us

This morning I review the garden. Many people believe that when summer ends the work also finish. No, fall is worse. It must pruning a lot off plants, trimming hedges, and the most important thing the trees. Sometimes they grown in the wrong side and it must remember them that the window is not the best place to place a branch. This year the number one in my garden growing competition has been for an oak tree, a young oak tree, with a 50 % height increase. Shakespeare is close by it. On July 7th 1994 I must help Mozart (yes I know my dog’s names are a bit strange). One of her eight pups didn’t find the way for living.

We spent a long time doing massages in his chest …. I do not think it will survive … I said my children who were children then.

But he survived. Family pressure force my husband to accept another dog.

He is a rational man and consequently he submitted the puppies to pass a very difficult intelligences test (I prefer don’t explain the details) He was the winner. And my husband according to a physical lightness that he only saw, named him Shakespeare.

Since then, his work consisted in digging huge holes in the garden, stealing socks, breaking carpet, scratching the door, especially the kitchen’s door, but at the same time he never forgot to accomplish his obligations that were: pursuing the cat, waking up the children, come in home with dirty feet at digging holes, a lot of holes.

When he was clean that happens rarely, hi was a spectacular dog with his incredible white and gray hair, his hazel eyes color.

His job was at the top of the ramp, there he controlled and our movements and also the neighbour’s.

Three years ago his hearing failed, but he still recognized my car, the neighbor’s and the noise of his meal pot, of course. Before the family seat down to eat, he gave three or four laps around the table after while we ate he stayed on one side until we finished.

One day he started to lose laps count. The fog filled his eyes and he crashed into the plants. He follows running with his friends, but need our help to stand up.

Despite blindness, deafness and teeth worn he was always hungry. My husband used to say that … the day when he does not eat, all will be finished …

One day, a year ago, Shakespeare did not want to eat more since then he is in the garden between the old cypress and a young oak tree.

See you
